The name Wild at Heart stems from this: behind its often understated front there is a wild sense of humour and passion to be found and enjoyed in Finnish design. This exhibition dives into the depths of Finnish contemporary design and offers a look into both its present and future.

The exhibition is divided into three stages and eleven designers have been selected to show some of their works, each embodying different aspects of Finnish design. The Wild Humour stage is all about colours and it invites visitors to explore the playful side of Finnish design; the blush coloured Social Impact stage focuses on how design can affect society; while at the Raw Beauty stage, material-driven design and art are the focal points.

Although there are different themes in the exhibition, all of the creators have one thing in common: they move boldly at the intersection of art and design and work with wild hearts and open minds.

The exhibition premiered in Vienna Design Week 2019 and continued to Budapest the same year. In 2020 the exhibition will tour in Stockholm, Tokyo and Helsinki. The exhibitions are realised in close collaboration with Finnish Institutes in Germany, Hungary, Sweden and Japan, and the Habitare furniture and design fair in Helsinki.

Exhibition curating and concept for Sato rental home company. We created modern art and design exhibition in the clubroom located at Sato rental apartment house. Designed in collaboration with Helsinki Contemporary gallery and artist Rauha Mäkilä.
